1185 Mainland St (DP-2022-00274) cannabis retail development application

The Director of Planning has requested you be advised that this application was considered on July 14, 2022, and was refused. 

It should be noted, however, that the applicant has the right to appeal this decision of refusal to the Board of Variance in accordance with the provisions of the Vancouver Charter.


1186783 B.C. LTD has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to perform interior alterations and change of use from Liquor Store (wine only) to a Cannabis Retail use, in this existing mixed-use building on this site, including:

  • A floor area of approximately 1,436 sq. ft.
  • Operating hours: 10 am – 11 pm, 7 days a week

Under the site’s existing HA-3 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
