The Director of Planning has requested you be advised that this application was considered on October 11, 2024, and was refused.  It should be noted, however, that the applicant has the right to appeal this decision of refusal to the Board of Variance in accordance with the provisions of the Vancouver Charter.


Architectural Collective Inc. has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to perform exterior alterations to this existing single detached house with bed & breakfast room accommodation and to alter and convert the existing accessory building (detached garage) to Church use (Synagogue), consisting of:

  • A total floor area of approximately 856 sq. ft. for the Church use (Synagogue).
  • Hours of Operation: Please refer to the operational letter prepared by Klal Israel Jewish Sephardic Congregation

Under the site’s existing RT-6 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
