The Director of Planning approved the application on April 17, 2025, subject to conditions. A Development Permit may be issued once all conditions have been satisfied. For more information, please see the Prior-to letter under "Application documents”.

Banks Architecture & Permitting has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to install an outdoor seating area (patio) and planters, to be used in conjunction with the existing non-conforming Hostel and ancillary Restaurant Class-1 use on this site, consisting of:

  • A floor area of approximately 2,417.0 sq. ft.
  • Patio to be closed and cleared of all patrons by 11 pm, daily

Under the site’s existing R1-1 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
