Please be advised that Council refused the reclassification on July 15, 2026. 

City of Vancouver has received an application to reclassify 1842, 1868, and 1878 West 37th Avenue from R1-1 subdivision category E to subdivision category B to obtain subdivision potential.

The minimum standards for category B and E are:

  • Category B: minimum parcel width 40 ft., minimum parcel area 3,600 sq.ft.
  • Category E: minimum parcel width 75 ft., minimum parcel area 6,750 sq.ft.

Following receipt of comments, this application will be reported to City Council with a recommendation from staff.

At the time of Council’s deliberation, property owners who have been notified will be given the opportunity to address Council on this subject. Please visit City Council meetings and decisions for information on the Council meeting date and how to sign-up as a speaker.
