The Director of Planning approved the application on August 27, 2026, subject to conditions.  A Development Permit may be issued once all conditions have been satisfied. For more information, please see the Prior-to letter under "Application documents". 


The City of Vancouver has received an application for permission to provide interior alterations and a change of use from a Single Detached House with a Secondary Suite and Laneway House to a Child Day Care Facility for up to 16 children, retaining the Laneway house, consisting of:

  • A floor area of approximately 2,268.0 sq.ft.
  • Hours of operation: from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday

Under the site’s existing R1-1 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
