The Director of Planning approved the application on September 12, 2023, subject to conditions.  A Development Permit may be issued once all conditions have been satisfied. For more information, please see the Prior-to letter under "Application documents"


Architect 57 Inc. has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission for alterations and change of use from Warehouse and Repair Shop to a Residential Unit with Artist Studio and Childcare Facility, at the above-noted address, consisting of:

  • Maximum of 24 children from 30 months to school age
  • Proposed hours of operation: 7:45 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday
  • Proposed outdoor rooftop play area
  • One proposed residential unit with Artist Studio

Under the site’s existing IC-3 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
