The City of Vancouver has applied for permission to serve the Economic Development of the local community by changing the use of the existing Retail space to Market, consisting of:

  • Operations run by MakeWay Charitable Society dba Binners’ Project
  • Low-barrier vending market stall types spaces for 10-15 vendors
  • Maximum operational times proposed to run seven (7) days a week from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, with set-up at 8:00 am and clean-up by 8:00 pm. The exact operational hours are still to be determined, and will stay within this time range

Under the site’s Downtown Eastside Operational Plan, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the Director of Planning.
