The Director of Planning approved this application, and a Development Permit was issued on May 2, 2024.

Hollingsworth Architecture Inc. has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to perform exterior and interior alterations to provide improvements, and to change the use of this existing single detached house to a single detached house with secondary suite. Scope of work includes:

  • Interior layout changes and conversion of a portion of the basement into crawl space
  • Addition to the existing building located on the west portion of the site and to convert the use of this space to secondary suite
  • Addition of two parking spaces with access from Balaclava Street
  • Alteration of the existing landscaped/courtyard area
  • Relocation of the existing in-ground swimming pool beyond the building line, as per BOV Appeal No. Z35978
  • Removal of the unauthorized tennis court in the rear (north of the building line)

Under the site’s existing RS-2 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
