The Director of Planning has requested you be advised that this application was considered on November 10, 2023, and was refused. It should be noted, however, that the applicant has the right to appeal this decision of refusal to the Board of Variance in accordance with the provisions of the Vancouver Charter.
Rain or Shine Child Care Centre has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to perform interior alterations and change of use from a Single Detached House with a Secondary Suite to a Child Day Care Facility for 24 children, in this existing Residential building, consisting of:
- Approximately 3,308.0 sq. ft.
- Retaining the existing Laneway House
- Proposed hours of operation: 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday
- No on-site parking
Under the site’s existing RS-1 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
