The Director of Planning approved the application on November 24, 2022, subject to conditions.  A Development Permit may be issued once all conditions have been satisfied. For more information, please see the Prior-to letter under "Application documents"


Salikan Architecture Inc. has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to retain and restore the existing seven-storey with basement Municipally Designated Heritage-B building, including alterations and the addition of a rooftop pavilion and to change the use from General Office to Hotel with ancillary Restaurant Class-1 use, consisting of:

  • Proposed hotel use (73 units)
  • Proposed rooftop pavilion addition of approximately 178.0 sq. ft.
  • Proposed roof deck of approximately 1,403.0 sq. ft.
  • Proposed ground floor restaurant shell space of approximately 3,756.0 sq. ft.
  • Proposed total floor area of approximately 41,557.0 sq. ft.

Under the site’s existing DD zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
