The Director of Planning has requested you be advised that this application was considered on May 24, 2023, and was refused. 

It should be noted, however, that the applicant has the right to appeal this decision of refusal to the Board of Variance in accordance with the provisions of the Vancouver Charter.


The City of Vancouver has received a request for permission to change the use from single detached house with secondary suite, to Child Care Facility with two ancillary dwelling units, consisting of:

  • A floor area of approximately 1,862 sq.ft.
  • Existing parking at the rear with access from the lane
  • Hours of operation:
    • Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Under the site’s existing RS-5 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted. However, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
