Traffic calming implementation plan update - May 2026

In January and February 2026, we completed installation of a number of traffic calming measures in the Hastings-Sunrise (Adanac Overpass Area) neighbourhood. Starting in late May 2026, we will be installing the remaining quick build volume reduction measures. The rest of the speed reduction and pedestrian safety measures are expected to be installed in Summer/Fall 2026. Two full build measures, a diagonal diverter at Kootenay and Pender Street and a raised crossing on 3000 E Pender, are expected to begin construction in 2027. Implementation of the Adanac bikeway will come in 2027 or later. See map below for details.
