Columbia Park Renewal concept plan approved

At the March 30, 2026 Board meeting, commissioners approved an exciting new vision for Cambie Corridor's Columbia Park.

As part of the City of Vancouver's work to develop a blue-green system along Alberta Street (from West 37th Avenue to 45th Avenue), we’re making improvements to Columbia Park.

Upgrades will be delivered over two phases and include:

✅ A new synthetic turf field with player benches, warm-up areas and spectator seating

✅ A renewed and expanded accessible playground

✅ A new dog off-leash area

✅ Accessible pathways and plazas

✅ Additional trees throughout the park

Park Board staff will now begin detailed design, with construction targeted to begin in 2028 following the installation of Alberta Street's underground stormwater storage system. Construction is subject to funding availability through the 2027–30 Capital Plan.
