We all pay taxes, some of us for decades and now the developers are not held responsible for the maintenance of the properties. Cost would be minimal to cut the boulevards and at least the areas on the outside of fences.

Draft Broadway Plan Engagement Is Now Closed
Thank you all for participating in the Draft Broadway Plan public consultation!Between March 1 and March 22, we had more than 6,300 visitors to our ShapeYourCity website to review materials, take the survey, and learn how to get involved. We received over 3,600 survey responses, over 300 people attended in person open houses and over 1,000 hard copy draft plan booklets were distributed through our local libraries. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be summarizing what we heard and sharing the results on our website. The next step in the planning process is to bring the final Draft Plan to Council in May 2022. We hope that you continue to stay engaged in our process.Thank you once again for your time and input.
Phase 2 public engagement highlights now available!
In our second phase of public engagement, we heard from members of the community, people across the city, and stakeholder groups on the draft vision, principles and goals for Memorial Square, along with ideas for possibly increasing the size of the space.Read

2020 engagement and monitoring summary now available
Throughout the summer and fall of 2020, City staff collected public feedback and monitored the pop-up plazas. During this time, multiple surveys were conducted. We received 767 responses to our general pop-up plazas survey, with over 90% of survey participants either supporting or somewhat supporting the initiative.The 2020 Pop-up Plazas Engagement & Monitoring Summary is a report back of the public feedback we received, along with early observations of these spaces, and how this information will inform our next steps. Due to the Canada Post strike, postcard notifications were mailed later than planned on October 16, 2025. To ensure adequate time to participate, the Q&A period has been extended by one week and now runs from October 8 to October 28, 2025.
