Davie Village: Space for People – detailed design complete

In January 2026, we completed the detailed technical drawings for the two blocks of Davie Village between Jervis St and Thurlow St. This design will support Vancouver’s businesses and growing population through wider sidewalks, space for patios, new trees and lighting.

This concludes the project’s detailed design process that started after public engagement in spring 2024. The next stage is awarding a contract for construction. We anticipate this will happen in spring 2026.

Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2026 and be completed by spring 2028. Construction is planned to start after the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2026 Pride Parade, keeping Davie Village open for all to enjoy.

We will continue to work closely with the West End Business Improvement Association (WEBIA) to keep businesses and communities updated and engaged as we move closer to construction.
