The City of Vancouver is exploring what future improvements can be made to create more places to play, relax, socialize and feel more connected to nature in Kitsilano, Fairview and Mount Pleasant.
The Broadway Plan, approved by Council in June 2022, is an area plan to guide growth and positive change in the neighbourhoods surrounding the Broadway Subway over the next 30 years.
The Broadway Public Realm Plan will identify what public open space and street improvements would best support the area and its future growth. It will include public open spaces on City-owned streets and properties, as well as privately owned public spaces (POPS), such as office plazas. A Streetscape Plan for Broadway will also be created and will guide the transformation of the Broadway Corridor into a “Great Street.”
Feedback from Phase 1 will be summarized and used to inform the Draft Public Realm Plan and Draft Broadway Streetscape Plan that will be shared in early 2024.
