Consultation has concluded

The new park at East Sawmill Crescent and Marine Way in the East Fraser Lands neighbourhood is now complete.

The preliminary designs were based on previous public consultation and City Council and Park Board approved East Fraser Lands Design Guidelines (2010).

In the summer of 2020, the community provided feedback on the proposed design. In June 2021, the Park Board unanimously approved the revised concept plan. In October 2022, the Park Board awarded the construction contract and in December 2023, the construction was substantially completed and the park was opened for public use.

    Construction was substantially completed on December 22, 2023 and is now open to the public.

    Currently known as Promontory Park, this 0.3 ha park will help serve this rapidly growing neighbourhood and form a vital green space connection from the Champlain Heights community down to the waterfront. An official name will be identified through the park naming process.

    On June 21, 2021, the revised concept plan was presented to the Vancouver Park Board and approved unanimously. The detailed design for the park can now commence and construction is currently targeted to begin in summer 2022.
