Rupert and Renfrew Station Area Boundary Update

In February, City Staff shared an intent to update the study area boundary for the Rupert and Renfrew Station Area Plan. The update was based on two considerations:


  • Removing an area in the Southwest due to limited sewer capacity; and
  • Expanding the area to the North and South to include areas identified in Vancouver Plan as potential ‘villages’. These villages, centred on 1st Avenue and 22nd avenue, were identified based on places with existing local shops and services. Vancouver Plan identified a vision to grow the villages, including more commercial and community uses, as well as more types of housing, to provide more local jobs, access to daily needs, and opportunities for social connection.


The updated boundary of the Rupert and Renfrew Station Area plan is shown below:
