The City of Vancouver is renewing its transgender, gender diverse and Two-Spirit (TGD2S) plan with a focus on TGD2S communities safe and included.

In 2016, the City, working with community, created its first plan to support transgender, gender diverse, and Two-Spirit (TGD2S) people. In November 2023, Vancouver City Council voted to renew the TDG2S plan with a stronger focus on safety and inclusion. Since then, City staff have conducted engagement sessions with TGD2S invested community.

Based on this work, City staff developed a set of goal areas to focus its efforts and we are seeking additional community feedback. Please know that we’re committed to carefully considering all feedback and will provide updates on how your input helps guide future initiatives.

• Look for us at one of these community events to share feedback and get more information about the project:
  • Sunday, July 13, 12:30 – 3 pm, 2STGD Monthly Post-Swim Social: Ice Cream Social
  • Friday, August 1, 7 – 9 pm, Emancipation Day Queer Arts Festival

Next steps

Your input will inform the draft TGD2S Safety and Inclusion Action Plan. We will share a summary of the results of the current engagement this fall, and the draft action plan will be presented to Council for consideration later in 2025.
